Manifesto

Hey,

I’m Guy, founder and heart behind Localhost.

The hosting industry, in its essence, is supposed to be a bridge – connecting ideas to the world, giving voices a platform, and fueling the digital realm with creativity. It’s a vital tool.

Remember when picking a hosting service was simple, transparent, and free from hidden caveats? It felt empowering to know your digital space was secure, reliable, and fairly priced.

But things changed.

Big players entered the scene, and suddenly, the industry began to feel less like a utility and more like a trap. Mergers started pulling the carpet from under innovative small players. Pricing models became complex labyrinths, with unexpected hikes and sneaky long-term lock-ins. And don’t even get me started on the domain mark-ups.

Instead of being a support, hosting became a hassle. Instead of empowering, it began constraining.

Yet, the beauty of the digital realm is that it thrives on change, resilience, and adaptability. Hosting, as a tool, still has that foundational essence of bringing ideas to life.

So, here’s some good news: the original spirit of hosting isn’t lost. It’s just been overshadowed — buried under corporate maneuvers and a focus on profit over people. A lot of this emanates from the industry’s giants, but also from our collective acceptance of this ‘new normal’.

Hosting deserves better. Your ideas deserve better.

Enter Localhost.

We’re here to declutter, to simplify, and most importantly, to empower. One package. One price. No yearly price increases. And absolute transparency on domain names, because you should know what you’re paying for.

Warmly,

Guy Rinzema
